Director of Special Services and EXCEL Program Lead

Position Summary
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School seeks a highly qualified and mission driven Director of Special Services to lead student support services and to design, launch, and oversee the EXCEL Program, our structured academic support and enrichment model. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating academic interventions, supporting diverse learning needs, ensuring fidelity to service plans, and collaborating closely with administration, faculty, families, and outside providers. The Director of Special Services and EXCEL Program Lead plays a critical role in ensuring all students are supported, challenged, and equipped to thrive academically within a faith centered learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Special Services Leadership
  • Lead and coordinate all special services, including academic interventions, accommodations, and student support plans
  • Oversee the identification, documentation, and progress monitoring of students receiving support services
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom accommodations and instructional strategies
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the school, families, evaluators, therapists, and external service providers
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with diocesan, state, and school policies
  • Participate in student support team meetings and contribute to data-driven decision-making
  • Assist administration with admissions reviews and student placement decisions when appropriate

​EXCEL Program Development and Oversight
  • Design, implement, and oversee the EXCEL Program, a school-wide academic support and enrichment initiative
  • Establish program goals, entry and exit criteria, service structures, and progress monitoring systems
  • Develop schedules, staffing models, and instructional frameworks for EXCEL services
  • Collaborate with teachers to align EXCEL supports with classroom instruction and curriculum goals
  • Communicate clearly with families regarding the purpose, structure, and expectations of the EXCEL Program
  • Monitor program effectiveness using student data and adjust supports as needed
  • Support long-term growth and sustainability of the EXCEL Program as enrollment and student needs evolve

Faculty Support and Collaboration
  • Provide coaching, consultation, and professional development related to differentiated instruction and student support strategies
  • Support teachers in implementing best practices for meeting diverse learning needs within the general education classroom
  • Partner with administration to strengthen a culture of collaboration, accountability, and student-centered decision making

Mission and Culture
  • Uphold and integrate the mission and values of Catholic education in all aspects of the role
  • Serve as a compassionate, professional, and solutions-oriented leader within the school community

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in Special Education, Educational Leadership, School Counseling, or a related field
  • Valid teaching or related professional license preferred
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in an elementary or middle school setting
  • Experience designing or leading academic intervention or support programs strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of intervention models, accommodations, and progress monitoring
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, discretion, and compassion

Middle School Science Teacher and STEM Lead ​- Grades 5 to 8

Position Summary
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Middle School Science Teacher who will also serve as our STEM Lead. This position is ideal for an educator passionate about hands-on learning, inquiry-based instruction, and integrating science, technology, engineering, and math across grade levels. The STEM Lead will help shape and grow our STEM vision while fostering curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking in a faith-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach middle school science to students in grades 5 through 8
  • Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned science instruction with an emphasis on inquiry, experimentation, and real-world application
  • Serve as the school’s STEM Lead by supporting cross-curricular STEM initiatives and enrichment opportunities
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate STEM concepts across subject areas and grade levels
  • Lead or support clubs, competitions, or enrichment activities related to science and STEM
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and engaging classroom and lab environment
  • Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
  • Model and support the mission and values of Catholic education

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid teaching license preferred
  • Experience teaching middle school science strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in STEM integration, project-based learning, or enrichment programming
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to inspire students and collaborate effectively with colleagues
